Nurse Aide Classes

Moon River Nursing Careers offers a new Nurse Aide class every month. Students can complete the course in just four weeks and are well prepared to take the North Carolina state exam to become a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA). There are thousands of job openings for a well-trained CNA. Our graduates can decide whether they want to work in a hospital, clinic, an assisted living community, hospice, memory care or in home health.

Medication Aide Course

We offer a state-approved, 24-hour program, which can be completed over two weekends. It is specifically designed for current Certified Nurse Aides (CNAs) in North Carolina who are ready expand their scope of care.

Classes are taught by registered nurses with extensive clinical and teaching experience. Our instructors bring real-world knowledge into the classroom, ensuring students understand both the how and the why behind safe medication administration.

Upon successful completion, students will receive a Certificate of Completion recognized by the North Carolina Board of Nursing and will be eligible to take the NC Medication Aide Competency Examination.

How long does CNA training take in NC?
Our Nurse Aide I course consists of 124 total hours. We offer a 4-week intensive weekday daytime program, as well as an evening and weekend option (which spans approximately 7 weeks) to accommodate different schedules. Both paths include classroom instruction, skills lab practice, and hands-on clinical training.
How much does CNA training cost in Chapel Hill?
The total tuition for the Nurse Aide I course is $1,475. To make it manageable, this is broken down into a $175 registration fee upon acceptance, a first installment of $650 when assigned to a class, and a second installment of $650 due by the second week of class.
Do I need experience to enroll?
No prior medical experience is required! You will need a High School diploma or GED, a background check, proof of immunizations, and a TB test to get started. Our instructors will teach you all the foundational theory and essential nursing skills from the ground up.
What is the CNA state exam like?
The North Carolina state exam consists of two parts: a written (or oral) examination and a skills evaluation where you will demonstrate your competency in standard patient care techniques. Our 124-hour course is specifically designed to prepare you for both sections.
Can I work while taking the course?
Yes! Many of our students balance work and their education. We specifically offer an evening and weekend class option (including evening coursework and Saturday clinical rotations) designed for working professionals or busy students who cannot attend our standard daytime intensive.
